Anxiety thoughts

I never had anxiety, well at least that I knew of, until after my youngest daughter was born. So, its been 8 years now. After I look back at some of the symptoms I experience I feel like I actually had anxiety before that but it just never really bothered me as much as it does now. Did you know that 301 million people in 2019 had an anxiety disorder, yes there is more than one. Also, that young people are more likely to experience anxiety symptoms than adults. Everyone's anxiety is different, the symptoms are different, triggers are different and how you handle it is different so finding strategies to help with this disorder can take some trial and error because not one person is the same. My anxiety for example is being in the middle of a crowded room, I hate that so much as I don't feel like I can escape. Sometimes I feel like it just comes out of no where but it goes into a huge panic attack.....you know the ones where you feel like you are dying and swear that you are having a heart attack (been there, done that). The symptoms for people are also different......some people have the nervous poops (Me lol), some are nervous, worry alot, have heart palpitations, fidget, pace, sweat, stare into space and so much more. That's why at times it can be hard to diagnose or see because anxiety can look like other things too. I used to feel terrible because I'm a therapist, I should know how to handle this myself and I would get so down on myself when I wasn't able too. I've had to go to the hospital because of my panic attacks because I just couldn't calm down.....it was terrible and I just felt so dumb. But i am a person too. I have things that happen to me, I'm not perfect. That's what we are going to learn and work on......we aren't perfect, but we can work on things to make them manageable and help us feel more positive on a day to day basis! So, you all have an amazing day!
