Learning Positives About Yourself

Knowing yourself is huge but how do we really look deep into ourselves to understand more than what is on the outside and do we believe what we are seeing/thinking about ourselves. Finding positives about ourselves can be very difficult for many of us and alot of the time it is so easy to point out the negatives. We also hear negatives and positives from other people in our lives......are you believing those over your own thoughts of yourself? I hope not!

Changing your outlook on life to one of positivity builds resilience, improves relationships, boosts work performance, makes you happier and healthier, and leads to increased satisfaction with life — and more success, as a result. Looking more at positives in the areas of your life is huge.....look at all the things it helps build instead of bringing things down. Negative only brings you down while positives boost you up and that is what a person needs in their life.

First, how do you see yourself on the outside as a person? How to do this.....take a look in the mirror for 3-5 minutes. Don't critique yourself here as I know it is so easy to do because there are always things that we would like to change or better about ourselves. Instead, what do you like or love about yourself? Things such as "dang my butt looks awesome in these jeans", "my hair looks great today", and "I love my smile." These are just some examples.....things I have actually said to myself. Now, write these down on some sticky notes if you have them, if you don't then get a sheet of paper. Lastly, think about yourself as a person on the inside. What do you love/like about yourself? Things such as "I am a good mom", "I am very loving and empathetic" and "I am honest." These are just some examples for you to see. Now, when you are done write these down again on sticky notes or paper.

NOW, take these sticky notes or sheet of paper that you have your positives wrote down take these and use them when you are feeling down. Seeing these positives that you have learned about yourself can make a world of difference on days that we are struggling OR on days when we just are ready to be strong/positive. As people we need to hear positives....."I AM A BADASS WOMAN." How awesome does that sound?
